PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle manufacturable at low cost and capable of securing a target air volume of air conditioning air distributed to feet even if the size thereof is small. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner A for a vehicle, an air passage 2 is formed in an air conditioner case 10, an upstream side opening part 3 and a downstream side opening part 4 are formed in the air passage 2, and an air passage switching door 5 for opening/closing the upstream side opening part 3 is disposed between the upstream side opening part 3 and the downstream side opening part 4. The air passage switching door 5 is so formed that a plate part 52 is fitted to one side of a shaft part 51, a plate part 52 forms a guide passage 2a together with the air conditioner case 10 when positioned where the upstream side opening part 3 is opened, and air conditioning air flowing therein from the upstream side opening part 3 flows through the guide passage 2a along the axial direction of the door 5 and flows into the downstream side opening part 4. The plate part 52 is bent so that the cross sectional area of the guide passage 2a is increased more than that when the plate part 52 is formed in a flat shape. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
