PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sofa having an arm rest capable of being shifted up and down so that the arm rest can be used as a pillow or the like by shifting the position of the arm rest. SOLUTION: Each of struts 1 is erected on each of both ends in the front of the sofa. A slide plate 2 is inserted into a part grooved in the inside of the strut 1. A plurality of female screws 3 are embedded into the inner part of the strut 1 to fix the slide plate 2 at any position. A female screw 3 positioned in a desired height is selected and engaged with a male screw 4 to place the slide plate 2. The arm rest 5 is fixed on an upper end of the slide plate 2 at a right angle, allowing the arm rest 5 to stop at any position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
