<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate, which offers a more convenience in handling, easier cutting/sutures to arbitrary shapes and sizes, and improves cell reproduction rate etc., for regenerating cartilage tissues by cell cultivation. <P>SOLUTION: This substrate for cartilage cultivation is made of crosslinked collagen sponge combined with a reinforcement of a biodegradable absorbence.
