<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain satisfactory fixing characteristics by stably controlling the temperature of a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: A ratio between the cycle Ts of a vertical synchronous signal Vsync outputted in association with the rotation of an intermediate transfer belt and the cycle Tc of control for controlling the temperature of a heat roller constituting the fixing device is set to an integral ratio (in the example shown in the drawing, Tc=Ts/2). Thereby, a difference between time t0 when the leading end of a transfer medium reaches the nip of the transfer device and time when the supply of power to a heat roller starts right before the time t0 is made constant. Thus, time required for the transfer medium to actually reach the nip after the start of the supply of power is made constant. Accordingly, the temperature of the heat roller when the transfer medium passes through the nip can be kept appropriate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
