<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image in an appropriate operation according to the variation in manufacture of a constituting unit and to reduce the adjusting operation when exchanging the constituting unit. <P>SOLUTION: Information regarding the variation in manufacture of a secondary transfer unit stored to a storage element of a secondary transfer unit is read (S100). Based on the read information regarding the variation in manufacture, an adjusting value for a control parameter "abutting timing" regarding the operation of the secondary transfer unit is derived (S110). The derived adjusting value is written to RAM, etc., (S120). Thus the operation of the secondary transfer unit is controlled using the adjusting value for abutting timing which is written to RAM, etc. As a result, the image can be formed in the appropriate operation according to the variation in manufacture of the constituting unit and the adjusting operation for the exchange of the constituting unit can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
