<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device which can perform test writing at high recording linear velocity surely to a disk on which a test writing area is provided even at an outer peripheral side, a method and a disk. <P>SOLUTION: This device is a disk device which is provided with a detection part which reads a disk and which detects an outer periphery-side test writing area which exists at a periphery outer than a user data area, a processing part which performs the test writing on the outer periphery-side test writing area when the velocity of the disk becomes a linear velocity equal to or faster than a fixed linear velocity and decides a strategy and a control part which performs recording processing to the disk based on the decided strategy. When the recording linear velocity of the disk becomes to be equal to or faster than the fixed volocity, the processing part can perform high-speed test writing easily using the outer periphery-side test writing area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
