<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for an optical disk device by which servo control can be performed stably. <P>SOLUTION: This control method for an optical disk device comprises a constant current control process in which control voltage is controlled to a voltage value VRDC-W so that at least one part of a current flowing in a laser diode is kept constant at the time of erasing data of a first frame or the time of recording, a shifting preparation process in which the control voltage is controlled to a voltage value VRDC-OmW when operation is shifted from an erasing or a recording of data of a second frame to a reproducing of data, and a constant power control process in which a control signal is controlled to a voltage value VRDC-R so that the power of a laser diode is kept constant at the time of reproducing data of a third frame.
