PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic liquid crystal polyester with a small dielectric loss in a wide frequency region. SOLUTION: [1] The aromatic liquid crystal polyester substantially comprises 30-80 mol% of repeating structural units derived from 2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid, 35-10 mol% of repeating structural units derived from an aromatic diol, and 35-10 mol% of repeating structural units derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid. [2] Moreover, in this aromatic liquid crystal polyester, the aromatic diol is 4,4'-dihyroxybiphenyl, and the aromatic dicarboxylic acid is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid.
