NAVIGATION APPARATUS, NAVIGATION METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable normal navigation processing to be performed even when difference data concerning updating of map data is efficiently searched and result is reflected on an original map data in a navigation apparatus. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus is provided with a first storing means for storing original data including map data in such a manner that an empty area exists in each navigation processing unit, a second storing means for storing difference update data representing data updated with the original data as a standard and a rewriting means for generating rewritten data including the original data and merge data by writing the merge data in the empty area corresponding to the merge data. The merge data defines a relationship of the difference update data with respect to the original data in each processing unit. The navigation apparatus is also provided with a processing means for accessing rewritten data in each processing unit, accessing the difference update data relationship of which is defined by the accessed merge data and performing the navigation processing on the basis of the accessed original data and the difference update data.
