PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrostatic air bearing spindle capable of shortening the total length of a spindle body, reducing the output of a motor, and inhibiting the rise of temperature of a spindle. SOLUTION: This hydrostatic air bearing spindle comprises a hydrostatic air journal bearing 3, hydrostatic air thrust bearings 5, 6, a bore 14 axially formed inside of the spindle 2 toward a non-load side of the spindle 2, and an internal shaft 15 mounted on a central part of an end plate 11 mounted on an end part of a motor housing 10 and extended inside of the bore 14 through a clearance. The internal shaft 15 is communicated to the end plate 11, the bore 14 is provided with a third compressed air supply passage 16 for supplying a gas from the end plate 11, the internal shaft 15 is applied to the static air bearing journal bearing 19, and an inner face of the bore 14 is applied to a bearing face of the static air journal bearing 19.
