PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily link an address book of a communication unit such as FAX and a copying machine incorporating FAX function and an address book for groupware and directory service. SOLUTION: In step S801, it is decided which address book data in two types of groupware is to be read. In steps S803 and S804, address book data of groupware 1 and 2 are converted. In step S805, a system advances to step S811 when new reading is instructed and a new reading processing is performed. In step S806, the system advances to step S810 when additional reading (AND reading) is instructed and additional reading (AND reading) is performed. In step S807, the system advances to step S809 when additional reading (OR reading) is instructed and additional reading (OR reading) is performed.
