The present invention relates to a method of controlling the operating status of mobile communication terminals within a given area. A message containing a set profile is sent when the presence of this mobile communication terminal is detected in the area to be controlled. The invention relates further to a mobile communication terminal provided with means to control its status in a given area. The invention relates also to a device for controlling the operating status of mobile communication terminals within a given area.
