WOUND CLAMP HAVING SUBSTANTIALLY SAME HALVES

PURPOSE: A wound clamp is provided to hold a sclerotomy at a tightly closed state during surgery and allow for ease of introduction of instruments through a surgical wound. CONSTITUTION: A wound clamp(10) comprises a main body(11) having a first half and a second half; an elastic band(14) or biasing the first half with respect to the second half; and a plurality of prongs coupled to both of the first half and the second half. Each of the first half and the second half has a groove(16) such that the elastic band is fitted into the groove. The prongs tightly connects the clamp on the tissue of a patient.
