Height-adjustable edge protector

The protective edging comprises a step profile (1) and a base profile (4) which is fixable on the step. The step profile has a tread area (2) and a positioning arm (3) whilst the base profile has a base plate (19) with holder. The step profile fits on the base profile through an infinitely height adjustable holder and can be released without damage. A downwardly protruding rib (80) forms fixing aid on the base plate. The step profile and base profile can be made of plastics, plastics laminate or plastics compound.
