A liquid mass is applied to a product, e.g. a dough product (4), by providing a supply (7) of liquid mass (5); carrying a layer (14) of liquid mass out of the supply and applying the mass from the layer onto the supplied product; and applying the layer to the product by splashing the layer. An independent claim is also included for an application device for applying a liquid mass to a product, e.g. a dough product, comprising a frame provided with a supply and a guide for the product; a container for the liquid mass and having a discharge; and splashing roller(s) for splashing the discharged mass that is arranged close to the guide. The splashing roller comprises a driven moving mechanism that accelerates the drained mass. |
