PURPOSE: Provided is a process for preparing vinylpyrrolidone polymer powder, which has high bulk density and excellent powder flowability and can be handled with ease. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises spraying an aqueous solution of a vinylpyrrolidone polymer into a drying tower using a disc atomizer and then drying, wherein peripheral speed of disc of the disc atomizer is at least 4,500m/minute, temperature of hot air introduced into the drying tower is 165 to 300 deg.C and temperature discharged from the drying tower is 100 to 140 deg.C.
