PURPOSE: Provided are a biodegradable resin composition comprising a high density polyethylene resin which shows excellent physical property and moldability, and a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises (a) 30-70 parts by weight of high density polyethylene, (b) 1-50 parts by weight of biodegradable aliphatic polyester resin, (c) 1-40 parts by weight of starch, (d) 0.0001-5 parts by weight of diisocyanate-based binder, (e) 0.0001-5 parts by weight of vinyl silane-based binder; and (f) 0.00001-0.01 parts by weight of radical initiator. The high density polyethylene has a low molecule(Mw<10,000) of 20 wt%, a molecular weight distribution(PDI) of 35 or more, a density of 0.945-0.950 cm3, and a melt flow index of 0.20(error limit = ±0.05).
