PURPOSE: An ice cream maker in which an on/off valve and a by-pass refrigerant pipe having an inner diameter greater than that of a capillary tube are arranged between a condenser and an evaporator, the evaporator consists of an outer wall and an inner wall and a plurality of distributing holes are arranged on a boundary wall on both sides of a refrigerant inflow chamber to uniformly disperse refrigerant into a refrigerant chamber is provided. It has excellent cooling efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The evaporator(40) of the ice cream maker consists of an outer wall(41) and an inner wall(42) and has a hollow refrigerant chamber(45) between the outer wall and inner wall to cause the circulation of refrigerant. It also has a refrigerant inflow chamber(46) in communication with the hollow refrigerant chamber to cause the refrigerant passed through the capillary tube and a by-pass refrigerant pipe(60) on one end thereof to discharge into the refrigerant chamber, and a boundary wall(43) between the outer wall and inner wall. A plurality of distributing holes(44) are disposed on the boundary wall to communicate the refrigerant chamber and the refrigerant inflow chamber. The by-pass refrigerant pipe has inner diameter greater than that of a capillary tube(30).
