PURPOSE: A method for recording and deleting a program in an image display device is provided to previously prevent recording stop by the insufficiency of storing capacity by selectively deleting a part of a program recorded in a PVR(Personal Video Recorder). CONSTITUTION: A CPU receives a deletion order about a recording-requested program, and stores the received deletion order(200,206-210). The CPU records the recording-requested program in a storing device(212). The CPU checks whether the storing capacity of the storing device is insufficient while the program is recorded(214). If the storing capacity is insufficient, the CPU selects and deletes one of programs stored in the storing device according to a deletion order(216-230). After deleting the selected program, the CPU continuously records the program.
