PURPOSE: A method for controlling operation of a refrigerator is provided to open and shut a baffle of a damper of a refrigerator compartment according to cabinet temperatures compared with a reference cabinet temperature. CONSTITUTION: A first cabinet temperature detecting sensor and a second first cabinet temperature detecting sensor detect opening of a door of a refrigerator compartment(300). It is judged whether a difference is generated between temperatures detected by the first cabinet temperature detecting sensor and the second first cabinet temperature detecting sensor(320,390). If the difference is in a range more than a predetermined value, a damper of the refrigerator compartment is driven(330,400). If the detected temperatures of the first cabinet temperature detecting sensor and the second first cabinet temperature detecting sensor are out of a cabinet set temperature, the damper of the refrigerator compartment is driven(340,350,360,370,380,410,420,430,440).
