PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus enabling an ink absorbing material to absorb ink uniformly and efficiently. SOLUTION: Two ink absorbing materials 22 are housed in a case member 21 constituting the outer contour of a waste ink tank 13 in a laminated state and through-holes 23a communicating with each other are formed in the ink absorbing materials 22 of first and second layers and notch grooves 23b, 23c, 23d are radially formed from the through-holes 23a. Therefore, the contact area of the ink absorbing materials 22 and ink becomes large to improve ink absorbing efficiency and a problem such that solidified ink is accumulated locally to generate a clogging state can be avoided and a function stable over a long period of time can be developed. |
