PURPOSE: A vertical-cavity surface emitting laser is provided to obtain a high-output single vertical mode within a wide driving range by forming one of an upper reflector and a lower reflector with a DBR(Distributed Bragg Reflector) structure as combination of a planar reflector and a curved reflector. CONSTITUTION: A vertical-cavity surface emitting laser includes an active medium layer, an upper reflector, and a lower reflector. The active medium layer(30) is used for performing a laser oscillation operation. The upper reflector(50) and the lower reflector are formed on an upper face and a bottom face of the active medium layer. One of the upper reflector and the lower reflector is formed with combination of a planar reflector(20) and a curved reflector(60). The curved reflector is formed by depositing a dielectric film on a curved surface of a lens.
