An electrically operated window may be controlled by a switch on the window frame, or may have remote control. A net 3A is attached to the upper sash 2D so that it automatically deploys when the sash is opened, to prevent foreign objects such as insects entering through the window. The window may also have light and rain sensors to operate the window automatically when rain is detected, or when the light is switched off in the room at night.
