PURPOSE: A braking device for a dual bearing reel, which is easily assembled, is provided to reduce the insulation faulty of the coil and circuit board, and besides to simplify the assemble of the braking device. CONSTITUTION: The braking device for a dual bearing reel, which is arranged in the rotatable manner on a reel body, so as to brake a spool(12), includes: a rotor(60), arranged in a line of the rotation direction, having plural magnetic poles arranged alternatively thereon, and rotated in the coupled state with the spool(12); a spool braking unit, having plural coils(62), distanced from the circumference of the rotor(60) and arranged in series oppositely to the rotor(60), and a switch unit(63), connected with both ends of the coils so as to braking the spool(12); and a spool controlling unit, having a circuit board(70) and a control element, arranged on the circuit board, so as to electrically control the spool braking unit.
