PURPOSE: A method for controlling a multi-type air conditioner system is provided to stop the driving of the system only when any abnormality is generated in a manifold sensor relating to an indoor heat exchanger in operation, thereby improving the utility of the system. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a multi-type air conditioner system includes the steps of initiating data relating to a manifold sensor, and selecting an indoor heat exchanger in operation among a plurality of indoor heat exchangers. Abnormality of the selected indoor heat exchanger is checked by transmitting a signal to a manifold sensor of the selected indoor heat exchanger. If errors are generated in the manifold sensor, the system is stopped. In the other case, the routine return to the first step.
