PURPOSE: Provided are a cathode for lithium secondary battery which has excellent stability and is inexpensive, and which can increase a life of the battery, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. CONSTITUTION: The cathode comprises a coating layer of lithium manganese oxide having spinel structure, and a coating layer of lithium-transition metal composite oxide. The cathode is produced by the steps of (i) primarily coating a lithium manganese oxide having spinel structure on collector(1) to form a coating layer(3) of lithium manganese oxide having spinel structure, and (ii) secondarily coating a lithium-transition metal composite oxide on the coating layer formed in the step(i), so as to form a coating layer(4) of lithium-transition metal composite oxide. |
