Silicone terpolymers, modified with phenyl or substituted phenyl groups a nd polyalkyleneoxides, which exhibit refractive indices > 1.47 are disclosed . These materials of the present invention when incorporated in formulations for surface treatment improve slip and gloss of the substrates to which they are applied, and are useful i n hair care and coatings applications.
