FIELD: medical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring maximum jaws-clenching force by fixing a device on tooth surface, applying pressure to the tooth and measuring compression force. The device is set on tooth. The patient is accommodated in polysomnographic chamber for taking at least 12 h long sleep. The device is withdrawn after the time is over. Balls are taken away and total imprint area of all balls is measured on both sides using microscope and pattern. A plot having the force causing deformation as horizontal axis and the total imprint area of all balls as vertical one is built for determining tooth-clenching force. The device has two metal crowns with 8-9 measuring balls of 2mm large diameter arranged between them. The balls are manufactured from plastic metal alloy. Free space between the crowns is filled with silicon composition. The lower crown repeats occlusion surface of the tooth and the upper crown repeats one of the lower crown. ^ EFFECT: high accuracy of measurements in dynamics. ^ 2 cl, 2 dwg |
