FIELD: data storage. ^ SUBSTANCE: writable optical data medium designed for laser-beam recording has substrate and set of layers incorporating first and second carbide layers, recording layer of material with phase transition placed between carbide layers, first insulating layer placed between substrate and first carbide layer, light-absorbing layer made of type Si, Ge, Mo, or W material and disposed between second carbide layer and one layer chosen from metal mirror layer and second insulating layer. In the process laser beam is absorbed to greater extent in recording layer occurring in crystalline state compared with absorption in its amorphous state. Recording-layer crystalline part heats to higher temperature than at amorphous labels to be erased; that is why amorphous labels may be held at crystallization temperature for period longer than fixed time and for shorter period than laser beam emission time thereby enabling enhancement of writing speed to 50 Mbit/s. ^ EFFECT: enhanced data recording speed at same total erasing (crystallization ) time or lower laser beam irradiation time. ^ 11 cl, 6 d |
