SHEET-LIKE FLOOR COVERING AND METHOD FOR ITS MANUFACTURE

The floor covering comprises an elastic rubber strip(2) whose upper visible side forms a decorative surface incorporating embedded decorative particles(5). The decorative particles are of a different material to the rubber strip and are coated with a transparent material, preferably epoxy resin. Independent claims are made for: a) a process for manufacturing the floor covering in which decorative particles(5) are coa in epoxy resin, applied and pressed into the upper side(3) of an uncured rubber strip(2) and the latter is then vulcanized; b) a us epoxy resin coated decorative particles for producing an elastic rubber floor covering.
