PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fabricate a winding element by winding an anode electrode foil and a cathode electrode foil through a separator, and to improve electrical characteristics in a solid electrolytic capacitor in which a solid electrolytic layer is formed in the winding element. SOLUTION: In the solid electrolytic capacitor in which the winding element is fabricated by winding the anode electrode foil and the cathode electrode foil through the separator and the solid electrolytic layer is formed in the winding element, the winding element is dipped in a solvent capable of dissolving at least one kind in the components of the separator before the solid electrolytic layer is formed and the quantity of the separator is decreased.
