PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating device capable of determining material in a relatively short time. SOLUTION: A control circuit controls heating by controlling the switching of an inverter circuit to vary the frequency of a high-frequency current, and determines the material of a pan used as a heating object by a heating coil based on an input current from the side of a commercial A.C. power source detected with the frequency of the high-frequency current fixed, and the output current of the inverter circuit (steps S10-S22).
