PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the surface of a fixing roller from wearing due to the contact of a separation claw with the surface, in a fixing device which obtains a color image in such a manner that a recording medium holding thereon a toner image formed with wax-containing toner is passed through a nip between the fixing roller and a pressure roller and the toner image is fixed on the recording medium under heat and pressure, and which brings a separation claw into contact with the surface of the fixing roller, thereby preventing the recording medium passed through the nip from being wrapped around the peripheral face of the fixing roller.
