PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial flower reduced in torsion caused on its flower petals so that its corolla is stably unfolded or folded. SOLUTION: The artificial flower is formed through the following process: forming a corolla comprising a plurality of flower petals, placing two pieces of shape memory alloy wire in parallel along the center line of each of the flower petals. In the artificial flower, the corolla is folded using a first shape memory alloy wire, and unfolded using a second shape memory alloy wire. The end points of the respective pieces of shape memory alloy wire are fixed at their relative positions leaving a space between the pieces of the wire using thin and small plates.
