<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the total power generation efficiency of a fuel cell by allowing oxidizer gas to be efficiently introduced. <P>SOLUTION: The separator for a fuel cell has a fuel gas passage on one-side surface, and an oxidizer gas passage on the other-side surface. The oxidizer gas passage is reduced in passage resistance by expanding a passage cross-sectional area on the entrance side of the oxidizer gas. Specifically, a plurality of grooves are arranged and formed as the oxidizer gas passages in parallel with one another by interlaying ribs, and the respective ribs are so formed as to gradually reduce their widths on the entrance side of the oxidizer gas. The bottom surface of each groove for the oxidizer gas passage is formed into a tilting surface directed toward the oxidizer gas entrance on the oxidizer gas entrance side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
