<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a membrane-electrode assembly capable of forming an electrode catalyst layer having enough gas diffusion capacity, to provide a solid polymer fuel cell equipped with the assembly, to provide an electric apparatus using the fuel cell, and to provide a transportation apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A polymer electrolyte membrane 1 is generated from sulfonated polyallylene system polymer solution. A catalyst paste containing catalyst particles, perfluoro alkylene sulfonic acid polymeric compound solution, and a hole forming material, is applied on a sheet type support body 2 with a contact angle of 55-105° and is dried to form a porous electrode catalyst layer 3a, 3b. The electrode catalyst layer 3a, 3b is thermal-transferred and combined to the both sides of the polymer electrolyte membrane 1 with a pressure of 1-5 Mpa. A diffusion layer 7, 7 is laminated on the electrode catalyst layer 3a, 3b, and is heated and pressurized with a pressure of 0.5-4 Mpa to integrate the polymer electrolyte membrane 1, the electrode catalyst layer 3a, 3b, and the diffusion layer 7, 7. The electrode catalyst layer 3a, 3b is dried to a point where the content of solvent is 20 wt.% or less of the total, before thermal-transferred to the polymer electrolyte layer 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
