PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white balance adjusting device for an electronic endoscope device that always set white balance values, such as R or B gain values, to proper ones when balance adjustment is performed, and an electronic endoscope device. SOLUTION: When the balance adjustment is performed, it is judged whether the values of R and B adjustment gain data, ra and ba, that are set in a previous white balance adjustment, are within a normal range. If they are not within the normal range, R and B reference gain data, r0 and b0, are set as initial gain data, ivr and ivb. Then, it is judged whether the R and B adjustment gain data, ra and rb, after the white balance adjustment is performed, are within the normal range.
