PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that composition of photographing is deviated upwards or downwards when a photographing target is horizontally panned while tilting an image pickup device. SOLUTION: In the imaging control method for moving a photographing direction of the image pickup device in panning and tilting directions, a tilt angle (r1) to an approximately front object is found (S1), a pan angle (r2) from the approximate front is found (S3), and a panning operation is carried out in accordance with the pan angle (r2). During the panning step or after panning is completed, based upon the tilt angle (r1) and the pan angle (r2), the tilt angle is changed into (r3) (S5), such that an elevation angle to the object is corrected not to be changed before and after panning.
