PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processing method capable of guaranteeing colorimetric color reproduction as a color conversion processing to an image output device using specified colors and expressing smooth gradation, and a color image processor. SOLUTION: In an ink amount/specified color amount decision part 31, an ink amount K and a specified color amount O are decided from inputted L*a*b*chrominance signals and transferred to a YMC decision part 32 and an image recording signal output part 33. The YMC decision part 32 decides YMC chrominance signals of the image output device 13 colorimetrically matching with the inputted L*a*b*chrominance signals on condition that the ink amount is K chrominance signals and the specified color amount is O chrominance signals from the inputted L*a*b*chrominance signals and KO chrominance signals inputted from the ink amount/specified color amount decision part 31 and transfers them to the image recording signal output part 33. The image recording signal output part 33 outputs the KO chrominance signals inputted from the ink amount/specified color amount decision part 31 and the YMC chrominance signals inputted from the YMC decision part 32.
