PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of lens systems and further to reduce noise of information reproducing light in a hologram recording/reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: The hologram recording/reproducing apparatus has a spatial modulator 9 which performs spatial modulation of divided first laser light L1 according to recording information to produce a signal light, an arranging section for a hologram recording medium 20 and a first lens system 11 which converges the signal light from the first laser light L1 and reference light from divided second laser light L2 onto the hologram recording medium 20. In reproduction, the first laser light is cut, the reference light is introduced into one half part of the first lens system holding an optical axis therebetween and reproduction signal light is derived from the hologram recording medium through another half part of a second lens system. Thus, the lens systems concerning the signal light and the reference light are made common by holding common lenses and further lens systems concerning reproduction light are made common. The occurrence of noise in the reproduced light due to reflection of the reference light is avoided by separating a path of the reproduced light and a reflection path of the reference light.
