PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To classify quartz pieces by preventing wrong measurement of an oscillation frequency of the quartz piece on each stage caused by an oscillation frequency error, even if the oscillation frequency error caused by difference of the shapes of a plurality of stages where the quartz pieces are arranged is generated. SOLUTION: This classification method is provided with a turn table 12 equipped with the stages 11 rotatably along the arrangement face periphery 121. The turn table 12 is provided with a measuring part 16 for measuring the oscillation frequencies of the quartz pieces C in a noncontact way, and a classification discharge part 18 for classifying the quartz pieces C by the oscillation frequencies measured by the measuring part 16 and discharging the pieces into a classification box 17. The device is also provided with a control part 2 for measuring beforehand the oscillation frequency error of the quartz piece C on each stage 11, reflecting the oscillation frequency error measured beforehand to a measurement result of the oscillation frequency measured by the measuring part 16, and preventing the wrong measurement of the oscillation frequency of the quartz piece C on each stage 11 caused by the oscillation frequency error.
