摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder motion detection device capable of performing precise measurement at high speed with a simple configuration by detecting both the speed and the direction of encoder movement. SOLUTION: This encoder motion detection device is equipped with an electromagnetic active range arranged on a main face whose range is approximately determined by a first space coordinate approximately orthogonal to the encoder movement direction and a second space coordinate in the movement direction and subdivided by prescribed rows along the second coordinate. The device is also equipped with a magnetic resistance sensor element arranged on the main face front of the encoder along a third space coordinate direction orthogonal to the main face, a magnetic field generation device for generating a transmission magnetic field of an electromagnetic resistance sensor element by lines in the electric field direction aligning on the face determined by the first and third space coordinates, and a signal processing circuit for generating deflection of lines indicating the magnetic field direction having a magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generation device in the second space coordinate direction by periodical circulation determined by the encoder position to the sensor element and the magnetic field generation device and the prescribed rows in the electromagnetic active range, generating the lines in the magnetic field direction in the first space coordinate direction by the periodical circulation determined by the encoder position, detecting the tilt of a continuous signal edge of an output singal, and supplying a motion direction signal by the value/row of the tilt.
