PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet device for detecting erroneous operation even in a detecting object having mirror surface reflection or low reflectance by arranging a determining means based on detecting signals according to the reflected light. SOLUTION: This automatic faucet device has a distance measuring sensor 110 for detecting a distance between the human body and an object based on the two detecting signals V1 and V2 emitted from a position detecting element 114. A control system 130 has a first detecting determining means step 233 for detecting the human body and the object by comparing the two detecting signals V1 and V2, a second detecting determining means step 234 for detecting the human body and the object by a variation in the two detecting signals V1 and V2 and a third detecting determining means step 235 for detecting the human body and the object by one detecting signal V2. A valve 120 is controlled for opening-closing based on the first, second and third detecting determining means.
