PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater roll mechanism for adjusting water content in a print sheet at a paper feed unit A of a printing machine which eliminates loss time and material losses when stopping the printing machine until the temperature of a heater roll reaches a set value. SOLUTION: In the heater roll mechanism for adjusting water content in a print sheet to be fed in a direction of a printing unit by passing a long roll sheet 1 unwound from the paper feed unit A through a guide roll 11 and a heater roll 12, and introducing it in a pair of nip rolls 13 (in-feed rolls) facing each other, movable guide rolls 14 and 15 which wait on the side facing a contact circumferential surface between the long roll sheet 1 and the heater roll 12, and separate the long roll sheet 1 from the heater roll 12 by moving the sheet to the contact circumferential surface side are provided on both sides of the heater roll 12.
