PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlling device for a remote controlled side mirror of an automobile using a simplified circuit and provide an accurate controlling method for the mirror angle. SOLUTION: The controlling device for the remote controlled side mirror of the automobile is to make the motion control of a movable part of a DC motor 5 by regulating the supplied power to the motor 5, whereby the voltage change of a resistance 12 between the DC motor 5 and a motor driver 11 generated with the rotating motion of the motor 5 is sensed in the form of waveform signals. From the obtained waveform signal, pulse signals corresponding to the rotational angle of the motor are extracted using a rotational angle sensing circuit of one system both at the time of regular rotation and reverse rotation of the motor 5. The pulse signals are shaped into digital pulses and counted, the inclining angle of the mirror body 4 is computed by an MPU 6, and on the basis of the result from computation, the power supplied from the motor driver 11 to the DC motor 5 is controlled so as to adjust the inclining angle of the mirror body 5.
