<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently utilize a nonvolatile memory while the speed of image formation is maintained. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of turning on a power supply, first font data stored in the nonvolatile memory is extended to generate second font data (S101).
