<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DSL transmission system capable of providing a DSL service or the like at a low cost and easily increasing the number of subscribers which the system can accommodate. <P>SOLUTION: A station side apparatus 100 installed in a center station respectively generates DSL signals on the basis of a plurality of received downlink digital data signals, applies frequency division multiplex to the DSL signals, converts the result into an optical signal and output it to a first optical fiber line 50. A terminal side apparatus 200 converts the optical signal received from the first optical fiber line 50 into an electric signal, demultiplexes the multiplexed signals, converts them into the original DSL signals, and outputs them to two-way electric transmission lines 2041 to 204n. Each of MODEMs 201 to 20n is installed in a subscriber's house or the like, applies re-conversion to the DSL signals received from the two-way electric transmission lines 2041 to 204n to output the original downlink digital data signals.
