<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a waiting time of a user when performing image editing processing. <P>SOLUTION: When a server computer working as an image processing apparatus receives an image editing instruction from a client computer working as another image processing apparatus (Y in T1), the server computer applies image editing processing according to the image editing instruction to only a low-resolution part of image data (T2-T5), notifies the client computer of the completion of processing (T8), and asynchronously executes the image editing processing for the a high-resolution part of the image data at a predetermined timing at night or the like (P1-P7). By doing this, since the image editing processing for the low-resolution part having less data quantity requires a short time compared with image editing processing for image data, this processing can be seen as if it were performed at a speed higher than in conventional image editing processing, and the waiting time of the user can be shortened in performing image editing processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
