<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for a video image changeover by shortening an interval to keep in a state of a still image when the video image changeover is performed, in a video image transmission system. <P>SOLUTION: When the video image changeover is performed, first of all, a video image from a first video image coder is made into a still image in a decoding portion 18. A video image decoder 16 directs the first video image coder to stop transmitting video image coded data, initializes the decoding portion 18, and causes a second video image coder to start transmitting video image coded data. After synchronization is detected by a synchronization detection portion 17, the second video image coder is ordered from the decoder 16 to add a sequence header to the video image coded data compulsorily, and perform coding from a head frame. The decoding portion 18 detects the sequence header, waits until a video image is stabilized and stops a still image, and performs usual video image outputting from the second video image coder. By doing this way, the video image coded data of the first video image coder can be changed over to the video image coded data of the second video image coder in a short time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
