PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, when the enclosure of a contact-detecting device is constituted in a shielded structure as a measure to countermeasure against the noise, the number of components used in the enclosure increases and the structure of the enclosure becomes complicated, because the enclosure must have a cap for containing a contact detecting circuit. SOLUTION: The contact detecting device is constituted of a flexible cable-like piezoelectric sensor and the contact-detecting circuit 9, which detects the contact of an object with the piezoelectric sensor based on signals outputted from the sensor. The contact-detecting circuit 9 is covered with a conductive cylindrical enclosure 11, which is connected to the grounding potential of the contact-detecting circuit 9. Thus, the contact-detecting circuit 9 can be contained in the enclosure 11, without opening or closing the cap of the enclosure 11. Consequently, the assembling work of the enclosure 11 can be simplified and, in addition, the price of the enclosure 11 can be reduced, because the number of the components used in the enclosure 11 becomes one and the assembling work of the enclosure 11 becomes simpler.
